If you aim for the healthy weight gain of your kids, as a parent you have to take the initial process to help the children to attain the goal. The healthcare providers and nutrition consultants can easily give the guidelines to the obesity problem. But it is in the hands of the parents to take the scene in control and instill the importance of healthy habits to bring about a big change in the children.
• The foremost step to overcome the obese problem is to become a compassionate and encouraging parent to the obese kid. The attitude of life of a child has a great impact on the attitude of the parent’s nature. Your child should know that you love him and you are ready to accept him despite his weight.
• Encourage your child to follow the guidelines given by the healthcare providers and nutrition consultants.
• Stop criticizing the child about the eating or physical activity pattern. Give them solutions to overcome their faulty patterns.
• Be receptive to the feelings of your children regarding the physical appearance and gregarious nature. Talk with him and make him come out of the poor self-esteem.
• Weight loss cannot be the solution for the obesity problem, rather, steps must be taken to slow down or stop gaining weight. Depending upon the age, weight, life style, the time span may vary from 2 months to 2 years. Set goal to reduce two to three pounds each month.
• Do not plan the strategy for the obese child alone. Make the plan for the entire family. As everyone will reap out the benefits of healthy eating, the practice should not be singled out just for the obese child alone. It will be easier for the kid, both mentally and physically to follow the set pattern, along with the other members in the family.
Apart from all the healthy, balanced, dietary pattern of eating, physical activities also plays a vital role in the reduction of weight in the obese children.
• Commence the physical activities by restricting the time spent in front of the television, playing video games, and working in the computer. The idle time schedules should be reduced.
• Doctors recommend children to go for physical activities, at least for an hour per day.
• Let them choose their way of playing, like, running, skating, jogging, sporting, fast walking or riding. The heart rate should be moderately increased and cause only mild sweating. Ensure that they are not totally exhausted or over sweat or affected from short breath.
• Give the child to try out distinct and unique physical activities, until he is settled with the one he adorns.
• Set a model for your kid, by you being active and enjoying the physical chores.
• Be consistent in the effort
